What’s next?
If this is your first time looking at editing, the process can feel quite daunting, so here is a general outline of the steps of my process for a Developmental Edit from beginning to end to help.
Step one; Pre-contract
- Get in touch to start a dialogue and let me know which Service you are interested in. I will share an information sheet that outlines everything you need to know about the Service.
- Complete and return a Client Questionnaire to tell me about you, your project and your goals.
- I will share a quote for the work and my availability for the project or meeting.
- If you accept, we’ll proceed to step two.
Step two – Admin
- Once the quote and dates are confirmed, I will send you the contract to E-sign. This will outline the project, the terms of us working together and other details to protect us both.
- Once you have signed, I will send an invoice for the deposit and request your manuscript.
- Once all three have been completed (you have signed the contract, shared your manuscript and paid the deposit), I will sign the contract and confirm the booking in my calendar.
Step three; The project
- The project will be completed in the agreed upon timeline in line with the Service you have chosen.
- Once I have finished, I will send an invoice for the rest of the work.
- Once paid, I will share the work with you.
- 2-3 weeks after this, I will reach out to check in.
