Book Coaching is a meeting, or series of meetings, where we discuss a book idea, plot hole, section of your manuscript, previous feedback, or any other areas you want to talk about. It’s dedicated time for me and you to talk and focus on your story.
Inclusions
A Book Coaching session includes;
- A one hour meeting with me online.
- Discussions on the potential topics; writing craft, manuscript improvement, story plot, or structure and character development.
- up to 10,000 words of reading prior to the session.
The topic(s) of the session will be agreed upon in advance.
Exclusions
Book Coaching does not include;
- Developmental Editing.
- Copy Editing.
- Advice on marketability, getting an agent or publishing deal.
- Ongoing support after the session.
If you require any further editing support, please Get in touch.
Price
Book coaching can be purchased by the session or as a group bundle;
- 1 session – £50
- 3 sessions – £140
- 6 sessions – £270
- 10 sessions – £450
The first session (or standalone) is booked at the time of contract signature. Subsequent sessions can also be booked up front, but all are the responsibility of the client to book and must be used within 6 months of purchase.
Sessions can all be booked as an add-on to a Developmental Edit, but please Get in touch to confirm a tailored price.
Client promise
For productive Book Coaching sessions, I ask my clients to agree to the following terms;
- Any pre-reading you’d like me to do ahead of the call must be under 10,000 words.
- Any pre-reading must be sent to me 3 days prior to the call.
- Payment for the session(s) is up-front, at time of contract signature, to secure the booking.
- 48 hours notice is needed to cancel or rebook, otherwise the session is forfeit and payment non-refundable.
- Collaboration is key. To make the most out of our session, I will be providing suggestions, challenging ideas and critiquing your work. This is done with the intention on improvement, but any aggressive, abusive or inappropriate behaviour will terminate the call and render the session forfeit and non-refundable.
Who I’d recommend Book Coaching to
Here are some points in the writing journey where recommend Book Coaching;
- If you haven’t completed your manuscript yet but feel stuck. Maybe it’s a plot hole or a drop in pace or wanting someone to hear your ideas and check them out.
- If you have received some feedback that you don’t know how to implement or disagree with – this could be feedback from me or a fellow writer or friend.
- If you’ve made some minor changes after receiving feedback and want to check you’ve implemented it correctly.
