Hi, I’m Anna, a Developmental Editor, specialising in Fantasy, Romance and Thriller. This type of editing looks at the big-picture items of a story like structure, plot, theme, POV and character. It is completed before the line/copy edit, to ensure your story sits on a good foundation before correcting the emotional and technical readability of your prose.

I mainly work with indie authors who are working on their first book. I’m always happy to explain the steps of the editing process or give tips on how to self-edit your writing.

I am 29 and live in Cambridgeshire, England. I am a dog and a cat mum, to the sweetest German Shepherd, called Bella, and my absolute baby, Orion. He is a chunky tom with an grumpy attitude you can’t help but love.

Reading has been a pleasure in my life for as long as I can remember and working in this industry is a dream come true. I am a fan of Fantasy and Romance, especially when the two mix, but also love a good twisty-turny Thriller. But, honestly, any fictional story that will absorb me into its world, plot and characters is a book I want to read.

I have been writing for 6 years, and have written 7 novels, one of which won an award – it was a very proud moment! I am also a Creative Writing student in my final year of university, and have been editing novels for over a year. Over that time I’ve also completed CIEP and Liminal pages editing courses in Developmental and Copy Editing, with a main focus on the former.

As a writer, I understand how dear a story can be to its author and how important it is to preserve a writer’s ideas and unique voice.
